In the early years in the Territory of PNG (TPNG) Trans Australia Airlines was identified as TAA Sunbird Services
- as can be seen in the picture below. When the mainland name became known as TAA The Nations Jetline
the PNG name was known as TAA - Airlines of New Guinea.
