The BMW registered with the Victorian number plate of LN-702
was brought into the country for demonstrating to various police forces such as New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory and I assume with a Victoria rego also the Victorian Police Force. I can not remember when this was but it was earlier than March 1980 as I left for Papua New Guinea at the end of March 1980. I think it was in 1978 or 1979.
Consensus says that it was an R100TIC - TIC being Touring Integrated Cockpit, The R100TIC is a special version of the R100, which was developed by BMW to satisfy the needs of clients such as police units. Basically, this is a "naked" R100 which was fitted with the fairing from the R100RT.
