- why is Sir Micheal Somare reffered to as the Grand Cheif of PNG?
He was the first of many things for the country. One of them was the first PNG Chief Minister. He was the first Prime Minister as well and now under the PNG Logohu honours scheme he has officially been given the title of Grand Chief. There are currently two Grand Chiefs. The other is Grand Chief Mola from Bougainville.

Good question and one I do not know an answer to. I know of one company that sell maps of PNG so may be it would be best to contact them.

Doing a search for PNG or New Guinea or even P.N.G will probably not return much. Keep the search simple. i.e. if you want to find out the population simply enter "population" without the quotes. There is no need to have PNG / P.N.G or whatever in the search string.
