VH-UXD, once registered as G-ACFV, was used at Salamaua in 1938. It was originally imported from the United Kingdom in September 1936. It was acquired by W.R. Carpenter and Co Ltd to work as a freighter in PNG and later operated by Mandated Airlines. VH-UXD was destroyed in a Japanese strafing attack at Salamaua on the 11th of March 1942.
The plane was built by A. V. Roe and Company Limited in 1934 and was based on a design licenced from Fokker.
Thanks to Rob H for providing the PNG VH-UXD connection.
