Air Niugini commenced in 1973. It was initially made up from shares held by Qantas, TAA, Ansett and the Government of PNG - Click here for more historical information compiled by the author about the National Airline of Papua New Guinea.
In days gone by Air Niugini produced timetables that could be carried around. Today they produce a single sheet (A3 size) that does the same thing at a far cheaper price.

Air Niugini has mounted a DC3 on a pole outside its headquarters at Seven-Mile in Port Moresby.
