This year I travelled from Tumbarumba, New South Wales, along Elliot Way and Goat Track Road with a detour via Cabramurra for a coffee and then along Link Road before meeting up with the Snowy Mountains Highway near Kiandra.

The road was icy in patches but fortunately there were no long icy sections.

Cabramurra had received a little snow but most of it had already been cleared away especially the car park and areas where people had to walk.

* Cabramurra is the highest permanently inhabited town on the Australian continent, situated at 1,488m AHD (4,880 ft) in the western Snowy Mountains
