The Alpine Motorcycle Rally is Australia's oldest running motorcycle rally and it was originally organised by Paul Giles. The first rally was held in 1969 near Yarrangobilly Caves along the Snowy Mountains Highway. In those days the Highway was dirt. Paul died on the night of the 30th Rally that he had started so many years ago.
Up until 2016 the rally alternated between two sites. (Neil Seagrim's "Tinut" farm at Brindabella and near the Yarrangobilly Bridge / Coterill's Cottage). 2016 was the last year the rally was held at "Tinut". Below is the history of where the rally has been held over the years since 1969.
