Hi,
My name is Simulai, or Sim for short. You say, "what kind of name is that?". Well it is what Papua New Guineans call a village name, and what you might call a traditional or possibly a tribal name.
The name, Simulai, was given to me by my grandfather who was Tsimulai Maibani (silent T). You can find out a little bit more information on the Michie Maibani family at my fathers family tree index, just by clicking on Home and finding your way from there.
In 1999 I was in year ten (10). and going to a school called Korobosea International. (Koro for short) You might be wondering what an International school is? Well an International school is what you might call a private school in other countries/P>
In 2000 & 2001 I moved to Sunbury, Australia so that I could attend school at Salesian College, Rupertswood.
From 2002 I attended University in Melbourne and doing odd jobs here and there to earn pocket money.
In 1998 I was voted in as the 1998 / 1999 Captain of the High School. Korobosea goes from pre-school right through to year 10. I have a female counterpart and each of us has a deputy.
At Korobosea they provided a range of subjects like:
Core Subjects:
Non Core Subjects:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- Social Science
- Information Technology (IT)
- Expressive Arts (Drama, Music, Visual arts)
- Physical Education (P.E)
(Simulai and Shulei)
The 1998/99 school captains in uniform.
Winter and summer uniform is the same!I also did other enrichment courses in the fields of Geography, Science, Mathematics, English and IT (Info Tech). English, Science and Mathematics come under IGCSE or International General Certificate in Secondary Education. I will do these examinations this year (year 10).
English comes under the University of Cambridge England. Last year I successfully completed the First Certificate In English.
